Diet
The saying is “An apple a day keeps the doctor away”. Unfortunately, as you age it takes more than an apple a day. We are what we eat, drink and breathe. As an example, If we control what we intake we can reduce our cancer risk by up to 47%.

Eat & Drink?
Tall, short, fat, thin, a lady, a gentleman, 55 or 95 we are all different so do we all need to eat and drink the same diet? Obviously, the answer is no. When you arrive at our site you might be a lady who is short and 66 years old or you might be a gentleman who is overweight and 77 years old. The only common denominator is that you want to improve your eating habits to improve your health.
My example is an 81 years old, 5ft. 11 ins. tall, 150 lbs. gentleman. So, of course I am describing myself, I started my muscle mass training and after reaching what I thought was a good balance in my life I decided to tackle my diet. All my life I could eat anything I wanted never gaining any weight, the most I ever weighed was 172 pounds when I was in my 40ies, 6 ft. and that was also when I was my healthiest even skiing Saas Fee in Switzerland from top to bottom without stopping, a drop of 6,500 feet.
The eating habits I had were not good – the bad side was cookies, sweets, ice cream, chocolate, candy etc. I was not a soda drinker, and I did not have a diet of French fries, hot dogs and hamburgers. Even though I enjoyed fruit, vegetables, salads, soups etc. I knew I did not eat enough of them. I thought this would be easy, all I need to do is cut out the cookies, sweets, ice cream, chocolate, candy, etc. and I would be fine WRONG!
What happened in one month I lost 10 lbs., 10lbs. that I could not afford to lose. At 81 years old losing weight is to be avoided. This is why DIET is such an important part of this web site.
Before removing things from my diet I added some things, I added Greek yogurt and protein drinks, and dried bananas to my diet. This did not affect my weight so then I removed the cookies, sweets, ice cream, chocolate, candy, etc. from my diet. Now there are cookies, ice cream and chocolate that are good, so I added these back and I am attempting to balance my diet with the food my body needs. My weight at the time of writing is between 145 and 150 Lbs.
